Towing Policy
Parking on campus is a privilege that comes with certain responsibilities. Unfortunately, we have observed an increase in the number of vehicles parked in unauthorized areas, occupying spaces designated for individuals with disabilities, or violating time restrictions.
Towing services will be operated by a third-party contractor:
Minor Roadside & Towing
Here are key points to keep in mind as towing enforcement takes effect on January 2, 2025.
Towing:
- Designated Areas: Parking is allowed with proper permits in designated parking zones. Restricted areas (fire lanes, handicapped spots without permits, loading zones, in front of dumpsters, event/reserved spaces, etc.) are strictly prohibited.
- Grass Parking: Parking on grass is strictly prohibited vehicles found parked on the grass will be subject to immediate towing at the owner's expense.
- Motor Homes, Trailers, and Boats:
- Parking motor homes, trailers, or boats overnight on LSU property requires prior approval from Parking and Transportation Services.
- Failure to obtain this permission will classify the vehicle as abandoned and subject to tow at the owner’s expense.
- "For more information, please visit the LSU Parking & Transportation website to view all rules and regulations." or email parking@lsu.edu
LSU reserves the right to tow any vehicle at any time and all towing expenses and retrieval are the responsibility of the vehicle owner.
We value your understanding and adherence to these policies. By following these guidelines, we can maintain a safe and orderly parking environment for everyone. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please feel free to contact our office.
