Distinguished Alumnus Award
The Distinguished Alumnus Award is a means to recognize alumni of the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine for outstanding professional and personal achievements. The award consists of an individual plaque and the placement of the honoree’s name on a group plaque in the School of Veterinary Medicine.
The LSU School of Veterinary Medicine proudly recognizes three remarkable graduates as recipients of the 2025 Distinguished Alumnus Award: Phil Pickett, DVM (LSU 1980), Mustajab Mirza, MS (LSU 1998), and Alma Roy, Ph.D. (LSU 2000). These awards celebrate alumni who exemplify outstanding achievement in veterinary medicine, research, education, and public service and were bestowed on our DVM, MS, and Ph.D. alumni, respectively.
