Capital Area STEM Network
Program Overview
In 2020, The Louisiana Board of Regents created a nine-region, statewide Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (LaSTEM) network whereby multi-parish collectives expand access to STEM education and pave a way towards a more inclusive and equitable STEM workforce. LaSTEM aims to bridge the opportunity gap for underrepresented and underserved populations by having Regions collaborate, share information, and coordinate resources to foster connections with other networks and initiatives (as seen on the right). All while working in conjunction with the statewide LaSTEM Advisory Council.
LaSTEM Region Two
The Capital Area STEM Network Center is hosted by the LSU Gordon A. Cain Center for STEM Literacy, and is located on the LSU campus. Region two encompasses these seven parishes:
- Ascension
- East Baton Rouge
- East Feliciana
- Iberville
- Pointe Coupee
- West Baton Rouge
- West Feliciana
