I do this work because I believe that access to higher education can change the trajectory of a students life and therefore the lives of their family and community. At my core I am a disruptor. I want to see people think differently about who they are, where they come from, and the possibilities of what they can do.

Advice worth sharing

The best piece of advice I've been given is, "Setbacks are setups for comebacks." Every time there is a setback we have to see the learning and opportunity from it. That setback and what we take from it can propel us to our comeback.

Currently streaming

My favorite shows are "Game of Thrones," "The Wiz," and anything reality TV.

Taste of home

I was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. There is a very strong and inspiring Mexican culture and influence in the city. I also absolutely love Mexican or Tex-Mex food–I will eat it every day if I can.
