Freshman Leadership Council
Exclusive Access & Supportive Leaders
Freshmen Leadership Council (FLC) provides freshmen with opportunities to learn more about campus leadership and professional development. FLC members are paired with older students who act as small group leaders. These group leaders are involved across campus and help members take part in activities that will help them build their professional skill, while making the most of their first-year experience. Through FLC, members develop and practice their understanding of leadership and community service, while forming connections with students just like them.
Former FLC participants have gone on to hold senior leadership positions in Student Government, minority and multicultural organizations, Greek Life organizations, prestigious honor societies, and many other student groups.
Why FLC?
"Growing up in a small city in Mississippi, I didn't know anyone coming into LSU. That's why I am so grateful for programs like FLC that allowed me to grow into campus and meet my peers in a fun and educational atmosphere. The mentorship I received was invaluable. The skills I learned have helped me beyond just Student Government. And the friendships I made will truly last me a lifetime. My experience in FLC showed me not only the things I cherish most about LSU, but it also helped me find the ways I want to improve campus for those who come behind me."
