LSU Study Abroad Scholarship |
Open to domestic and international students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Students must be enrolled at LSU and degree-seeking in order to be considered for this award. Selected recipients will receive one-time scholarships of $1,500.00 to be used towards LSU study abroad programs. Please email studyabroad@lsu.edu for more information. |
Annette Kade Scholarship | Open to students who are participating in an ISEP exchange and who will be studying in French or German at an ISEP member institution in Austria, France, the French Antilles, Germany, Reunion Island, or Switzerland. Students must have a demonstrated financial need. |
A grant program that enables students with financial need to study or intern abroad, thereby gaining skills critical to U.S. national security and economic competitiveness. Open to U.S. citizens who are undergraduate students and who receive Federal Pell Grant funding.

Boren Awards | Provides funding for U.S. undergraduate students to study less commonly taught languages in world regions critical to U.S. interests and underrepresented in study abroad, including Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East. |
Corinne Jeannine Schillings Foundation Scholarships | These scholarships support undergraduate Silver or Gold Award Girl Scouts who plan to study abroad. $1,000 is provided directly to the winners upon verification that they have begun their study abroad programs. Those awarded must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0. |
Diversity Abroad Overseas Ambassador Scholarship | Offers $500 scholarships for fall and spring semesters as well as summer term. Five scholarships are available for the fall semester, five for spring, and two for summer. Students going abroad for the full fall, spring, or summer terms are eligible to apply. Economically disadvantaged students, first-generation students, students with disabilities, and ethnically and racially diverse students are strongly encouraged to apply. |
Freeman Asia | Funding for undergraduates who receive need-based financial aid and have been accepted into a study abroad program in East or Southeast Asia. |
Fund for Education Abroad (FEA) Scholarships

FEA seeks to provide scholarships and ongoing support to students who are underrepresented among current U.S. study abroad populations. Funding is available for U.S. citizens with financial need who wish to study abroad. Students who represent a group that is traditionally underrepresented in study abroad are especially encouraged to apply. Individuals who complete the application by the deadline will automatically be considered for all scholarships funded by FEA for which they are eligible. Scholarships include:

Inclusive Ireland Scholarship
|
Created to provide academically rigorous and culturally immersive study abroad experiences for students from all backgrounds and identities, the Inclusive Ireland scholarship awards 3,000 Euro to undergraduate students who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color), who intend to study abroad at one of the participating universities in Ireland, and who have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above. LSU's partner, Maynooth University, is a participant. Please email studyabroad@lsu.edu for more information about this scholarship. |

Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grant |
Designed to help support undergraduates as they seek knowledge and experience in their academic fields by studying abroad, these grants are open to students whose home universities have Phi Kappa Phi chapters (LSU does!), who have a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher, and whose study abroad programs start between May 1 and June 30. |

Critical Language Scholarships Program | A fully funded summer study abroad opportunity for American students (undergraduate and graduate) to learn the following languages: Arabic, Azerbaijani, Bangla, Chinese, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Swahili, Turkish, and Urdu. |
Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Graduate Fellowships | U.S. State Department program administered by Howard University that seeks to attract and prepare outstanding young people for careers as diplomats in the Foreign Service of the U.S. Department of State. Applicants should be seniors or recent college graduates who want to join the Foreign Service. Members of minority groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service, women, and those with financial need are especially encouraged to apply. |
Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals |
Fellowship funded by the German Bundestag and the U.S. Department of State that annually provides 75 American and 75 German young professionals, between the ages of 18 and 24, the opportunity to spend one year in each others' countries studying, interning, and living with hosts on a cultural immersion program. Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowship |
Funded by the U.S. Department of State and administered by The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars, this program provides graduate students with financial support, mentoring, and professional development to prepare them academically and professionally for a career with the U.S. Department of State. Women, members of minority groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service, and students with financial need are encouraged to apply. |
Samuel Huntington Public Service Award |
Provides a $15,000 stipend for a graduating college senior to pursue one year of public service anywhere in the world (may be used domestically or internationally). |
